Stainless Steel 304L Lap Joint Flanges are slightly improved corrosion resistance over other alloys of stainless steel in strongly oxidizing environments as a result of the addition of columbium (niobium) and tantalum. Stainless Steel 304L Ring Joint Type Flanges does not perform well in chloride solutions, even in small concentrations, or in sulphuric acid.
