Our ASTM B161 Nickel 201 Seamless Pipes has outstanding resistance to localized corrosion and excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking. The advantages of these ASME SB 161 Nickel 201 Seamless Tubes over previous family of alloys are enhanced thermal stability and improved fabrication characteristics. The recently developed our ASTM B161 Alloy 200 Seamless Pipes will handle stronger non – oxidizing acids than other type of alloys and will tolerate oxidizing impurities that B-type alloys will not.
If these ASME SB 161 Alloy 200 Seamless Tubes undergoes greater than 15 % deformation during cold working, then a solution anneal may be necessary. Brushing with our ASTM B161 Alloy 201 Seamless Pipes after welding will remove the heat tint and produce a surface area that does not require additional pickling. For optimum corrosion resistance, forged parts of these ASME SB 161 Alloy 201 Seamless Tubes should be subsequently annealed.
Scope And Manufacturing
ASTM B161 specification covers the standard requirements for nickel (UNS N02200) and low-carbon nickel (UNS N02201) in the form of cold-worked seamless pipe and tube. The material shall conform to the specified chemical composition limits for nickel, copper, iron, manganese, carbon, silicon, and sulfur which shall be determined by chemical analysis.
Tension test shall be performed; wherein, the tensile properties for the material specified as small-diameter and light-wall tube shall be in conformity with the tensile strength, yield strength, and elongation requirements. Each pipe or tube shall also be subjected to nondestructive electric test or hydrostatic test in accordance with a referenced ASTM document to determine the allowable fiber stress for the annealed and stress-relieved materials.
